1Unbox Your Trezor
Carefully unbox your Trezor device and check that all components are present. You should have:
- Trezor device
- USB cable
- Recovery seed cards
- Lanyard and stickers
2Connect to Computer
Connect your Trezor device to your computer using the provided USB cable.
3Visit trezor.io/start
Open your web browser and go to trezor.io/start. This is the official setup guide for Trezor devices.
Select your Trezor model (Trezor One or Trezor Model T) to see specific instructions for your device.
4Install Trezor Bridge
Download and install Trezor Bridge, which enables communication between your Trezor device and the Trezor web interface.
The website will automatically detect your operating system and provide the correct version for download.
5Create New Wallet
Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new wallet. Your Trezor device will guide you through the process.
You'll be asked to:
- Install the latest firmware
- Set a PIN code for device security
- Write down your recovery seed phrase
6Backup Recovery Seed
This is the most critical step! Write down the 12, 18, or 24-word recovery seed phrase on the provided cards.
7Confirm Recovery Seed
Your Trezor will ask you to confirm several words from your recovery seed to ensure you've written it down correctly.
This verification step prevents errors in your backup that could lead to permanent loss of funds.
8Access Your Wallet
Once setup is complete, you can access your wallet through the Trezor web interface or compatible wallet applications.
You're now ready to securely receive, send, and store cryptocurrencies!
